IHRD, owned by the Govt. of Kerala has been a pioneer in the field of imparting technical education in the field of Electronics and Computer science right from 1987 since its inception. IHRD is introducing a new course “Post Graduate Diploma in Audio Engineering“ the very first of its kind in Kerala under the Govt. Sector at College of Applied Science, Vadakkencherry, Palakkad, for aspirants in the audio media industry from July 2010. At
present there are only few institutions of repute in India under the Govt. Sector, mainly FTII Pune, Adayar Film institute Chennai, and Satyajit Ray Institute Calcutta where P.G diploma courses of 3 year duration are offered in audiography. Hence the course has been formulated mainly to cater the needs of students who wish to pursue a career in Audio Engineering. Since the need of the hour is to create more professionals in the field in a shorter time span and yet without compromising on the quality of
the subject taught, the course has duration of two semesters with impetus on practical training. A three month internship at the prestigious “Chitranjali Studios” Thiruvananthapuram would be one of the highlights of the course.

The new Audio Recording Studio coming up at the College will have the best available hardware and software of international standards which will be used to impart hands on training to the students.
They will be trained to use PROTOOLS 8 and LOGIC STUDIO 9 on both Mac and Windows platforms on world class DIGIDESIGN hardware.
